Fails to get a label if projects are deleted after the label

Post by Xavier » Wed Jul 04, 2007 3:36 am

Hello,

we use Visual SourceSafe 2005 and SourceGear 4.2.

We have a label on a project. After the label some projects below the main have been deleted.
It's then awfully slow to get the label (about 2s per file with hundreds of errors in your log file: project not found).

Are you aware of this issue ?
Fos us it means we cannot have the label remotely...

How exactly were the projects deleted. Was it performed in VSS or SOS. Were the files destroyed permanently? (There's an option for destroy permanently.)

How often do you run analyze on your VSS database with fix options?

The project were deleted using SOS.
They weren't destroyed permanently (as we succeeded to do an extract of the label for VS2005 locally).
We run analyze once a week.
It ran before the test.

So, it works fine locally but not remotely....

Can you zip up and send me your SOS server log? You can either post it here or email it to support at sourcegear.com (attn: Beth) with a link to this forum thread.

Before doing that though, can you check your logging level? It would be best if it was boosted to verbose and maybe even add method. Instructions on how to do that are here: Debug and Method Logging.

You will need to restart the SOS service for it to take effect. Then if you can recreate the scenario after that, it would be very helpful in capturing the best information on it.
