File rename in project broken after installing 4.0

Post by rshillington » Wed Jun 27, 2007 10:58 am

After installing the 4.0 client and setting the plug-in to VS 2005 I can't rename a VB source file. even if the project is not under source controls.

The workaround is 1) source control plug in to none 2) exit VS 3) open project and rename file

How's that for wierd. I'm using the 4.0 client on VS 2005 SP1 Window XP SP2

Cheers,

I'm unable to reproduce this. In what project type is the rename failing? (Windows app, Web app, class library, etc.) Would you be willing to enable IDE logging and send me the section where the rename fails?

As requested attached is the log file, and a short video reproducing the problem. Again this is with client 4.0 and VS 2005 SP1

Thanks for the detailed info. I apologize, I neglected to notice that you simply said "4.0" and I erroneously translated that to "the latest 4.0 release."

This looks like an issue that was fixed in 4.0.1. Are you currently running 4.0.0?

Yes 4.0.0 --- I thought I would try and stick it out until 4.0.2
