Server & Client License Entry Point

Post by TLEGRANT » Mon Jun 04, 2007 1:20 pm

Linda,

During my upgrade from Vault 3.19 to v3.52 at the server, when would the software ask me for the new server license number? Is it before, after or during the upgrade on the server? I don't recall a server license at all, is it built into the software "VaultServer_3_5_2" Windows Installer Package: 19,562KB? Do I need to use the "VaultImport_3_5_2" Windows Installer Package 2,514KB at all?

Also, the current (15) client licensed 3.19x version, when should I remove the old License number and enter the new (25) 3.52v licenses? Before the upgrade, after or during?

The server doesn't actually ask for a license number. However, without a 3.5.x license, all users but Admin will get a license error when they try to log in. After you upgrade to Vault 3.5.2, login to the Admin Tool as Admin user and configure your 3.5.x license in the Licenses tab of the Admin Tool. You do't need to remove the old license -- it won't be displayed.

Probably not. This is a tool to import a Visual SourceSafe database into Vault.
