Tracking ticket changes through Vault

Post by bfhogan25 » Fri May 25, 2007 10:09 am

My current problem is that I need to know what files were modified by a certain ticket. This ticket along with the files modified, the description of the problem, the steps to reproduce the problem, setup documentation, etc. needs to be tracked from dev-qa-stage.

Is there a way to track by developer and by ticket what was changed? I'm thinking some sort of label for that change and the label would be the ticket. I just don't want that many labels.

Anyone have any thoughts on this. We use Eclipse, Vault, Dragnet and an Excel Spreadsheet to track the ticket and the files changed per ticket. This spreadsheet is our week link and I wish Vault could fill this void.

We are using the spreadsheet so that if a ticket fails QA or Stage it does not get released. (There are many holes with this.)

Anyone have any thoughts?

If you put the ticket number in the check-in comments, you can then use the history function to find all changes with that ticket number.
