Persist history filters???

Post by davenovak » Thu Apr 26, 2007 3:18 pm

Vault does have very rich history reporting features and filters. Having said that, I find myself almost always applying the same filters with each history search.

Is there any way to tell Vault to remember my current history filter settings (or something along those lines)?

Take a look at "History Favorites-> Edit Favorites..."

Once you've saved a "favorite query", use that from the History Favorites menu or context menu.

This is good to know. I'm sure I'll take advantage of this.

Even so, I would vote to also have a feature / option for Reuse history filter (kind of along the lines of the VSS Reuse last comment).

Another thought that works equally well is to have a Vault-defined History Favorite for Last Query, which would get updated each time the user did a normal "Show History...". If they want to reuse the last History filter, they would just pick this built-in favorite.

Oh well -- just some ideas.
