3.5.2 upgrade problem with Shadow Folders

Post by Don Thimsen » Fri Apr 20, 2007 2:35 pm

I just upgraded from 3.5.1, and tested the shadow folders to make sure they were working properly. After finding that shadow files were not working, I checked the vault admin and the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\VaultService\VaultShadowFolder\web.config file. Found that the shadow definations were all missing. So far, I have added back one defination and that doesn't seem to be working either.

I then noticed that the <add key="shadowfolder_login" value="admin" /> and related keys are also missing on the new web.config file. I assume these are still needed?

Can I copy the keys from my backup web.config file?

Thanks,
Don

Can you copy over you entire Vault Shadow Folder web.config file? The installer appears to have overwritten both the associations and the connection string.

Yes, you can use an original from backup and copy over the newer web.config in the Vault Shadow Folder directory.

Restoring the web.config corrects the problem. Do you want a copy for debugging the installer script? If you do, I'll be glad to email the config file... Thanks, Don
