Hi,
I am currently off site and connecting to Vault through the internet with a VPN connection. For a bunch of reasons the VPN is not always available so I want to be able to connect directly to Vault from outside. Our Vault server is not visible from outside and the standard http ports are used by our company web server. I am told by our MIS guy that if I can specify a non-standard port number for the vault connection on both the client and server, the firewall can redirect that port to the internal Vault server.
Can you give me some help on how to do this.
How do I change the server not to use the standard http or http/ssl (80 or 453) ports?
And then how do I specifiy the client to connect to a different port?
thanks
Thom

connecting to Vault with different port

The Vault server runs as a Web service in IIS. It uses whatever port is configured for the website where it is installed. For instance, if you installed Vault server to the default website and the default website uses port 80, then you would connect to the Vault service on port 80.
You can change the port of the website in the website properties in IIS. To connect to Vault from the client, you would specify the server name and port -- for instance "myservername:8888" if the port were 8888.
