Make all files writeable in VS?

I have been using the Vault stand-alone client with some success, however today I attempted to use the VS client and can not seem to get the "Make All Files Writeable" (CVS Mode) to enable in VS.

Is this a known limitation of the VS source control model?

Yes. Microsoft's design for Visual Studio does not allow for Edit, Merge, Commit within their MSSCCI framework.

However, Vault 4.0 will be introducing a new Visual Studio 2005 integrated client which will work in either mode.
