What version of the SOS Server are you connecting to?

Enable verbose and method logging for the SOS Server log:
http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=463

Reproduce the problem, then post the log (we don't need the whole log, just a couple day's worth) or email it to support at sourcegear.com ATTN Linda. Be sure to let me know what your IP address or machine name is so I can identify it in the log file.

If you connect to our SOS demo server, does your client hang?
Connect to sos.sourceoffsite.com port 8888. Login is Daffy password Duck.

It looks like something is closing the connection. The SOS Server maintains a stateless connection, and doesn't close connection (unless the server crashes or hangs).

Disconnects are often caused by network issues. Could anything be interfering with or closing the connection, like a firewall, router, anti-virus scanning?

Yes, that is confusing. I'm not sure why re-installing the client would help. It could just be a coincidence.

--If you connect to our SOS demo server, does your client hang?
Connect to sos.sourceoffsite.com port 8888. Login is Daffy password Duck.

--Are there other SOS users? Are they having the same problem?

--If you restart the SOS Server, can you connect?

--If you delete your client-side cache file, can you connect again?
The client side cache file is called databaseX.sos and is in
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\SourceGear\SOS\servers\sos
