Recursive "Get" by label

Post by sparky » Wed Feb 07, 2007 7:25 am

I'm using SOS client 4.2. I have a set of directories that are labeled whenever a release is made. What I want is to be able to recursively "get" the hierarchy at a certain label.

From the docs it looks like all I have to do is view the history on a folder, select the label I'm interested and check the recursive flag and then click "get". Unfortunately "Get" never enables.

Is there something I have to do to enable this facility?

Thanks

Marcus

What version of the SOS Server are you connecting to?

No, there's no way to check from the client side. The reason I asked is that the Get by label often doesn't work if you have a 4.x client connecting to an SOS 3.5.x server.

You could try downloading a 3.5.3 client from our website:

If that doesn't work, there could be database issues that would need to be resolved on the server/database side.

We updated VSS server with latest version and still have the same problem with getting project by label. I wrote it here some months ago.

This could indicate database corruption in VSS. Running Analyze might help:

Sometimes an Archive and Restore operation can clean up a database as well.

You could send us your VSS database or an archive of the project where the label was applied and we can see if it's reproducible here. We might be able to determine what's going on.
