How to DCPROMO a machine with a Vault installation

Post by glt » Fri Jan 19, 2007 10:13 am

Hi,

I am in a situation that forces me to DCPROMO our Vault server
to be a domain controller. I guess this might cause problems for
Vault, not least because it will delete all the local accounts.

Is there a way to keep the Vault installation from being killed off
when I promote the server to a domain controller?

Cheers,
Geoff.

Ahem. I should have added that we have:
Vault version 3.1.5 (3546) running on
Windows Server 2003 Std ed. with
SQL Server 2000 back end

I don't think we've tested that, but the best thing you can do is make sure that you have a current backup of your database. Also, we have a KB article on how to set things up for Vault with a Domain Controller that you will want to read: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=201.

Aha. That article looks like what I would have needed... except its IIS5.
I think I found another machine to dcpromo anyway.
So the problem may have gone away for me at least.

Thanks for the help.
Cheers,
Geoff
