How do I control database location?

Post by davenovak » Thu Jan 18, 2007 3:24 pm

I am setting up a new Vault server, which happens to have several drives. The default database path for SQL Server 2005 is on the C drive. But I would like to create the Vault database on the F drive as it is large and RAID 5 protected.

How would I do this?

A couple of different ways.

Perhaps the easiest is to install Vault.

Detach the database

Move it to your RAID set/drive

Re-attach the database.

That worked without a hitch. Thanks.
