Migrate to 3.5

Post by btd » Mon Jan 15, 2007 6:37 am

We currently are running Vault 3.16 (3158) SG and wish to upgrade to 3.5.

Is there an upgrade document that I can use that will show me how to upgrade our current version while at the same time keeping all the settings in tact.

Thanks

Tom

What particular settings are you concerned about? I believe all settings are supposed to be saved during an upgrade.

Beth:

I'm mainly interested in the web.config. See we encrypted our vault password and I want to make sure this does not get changed in any way during the upgrade. Can you confirm this?

Also, are there instructions on how to upgrade to 3.5?

While I'm looking into this, I want to confirm exactly which password you mean. Do you mean the login and password for the SQL database, or do you mean that you have Vault running under impersonation (using a user account) and that is what you have encrypted, or something else?

It shouldn't change the encryption, but you may wish to make a back-up of your web.config either way as a just in case sort of measure.
