Might be related to an environment variable - See http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=7048 for a possible work-around.

I've installed Vault client 3.5.* on Vista Ultimate, and have noticed a couple of problems. After instalation, I can no longer use the IE6 search, or get the list of previous sites in IE6.
Any ideas?
Just running the vault client without instalation works, but I want the instalation for VS 2005 integration.

Some users are successfully using the Vault client on Vista, but we've had other reports from users who've had problems.
We can't be of much help, since we don't yet support Vault on Vista. We do plan to support it, but we'll need to completely test Vault on this new OS first. Vista support will be available in 2007.

I am running Vault Client 3.5.1 on two different computers running vista RTM, one Business one Ultimate, and they both run great.
Vista has IIS7 so I would imagine that is the reason the server version won't install. Maybe Installing "IIS 6 Management Compatibility" inside "Turn windows features on or off" under Programs and features will help. Thats just a guess.
Vista comes with IE7 so i'll assume thats what vminden was referring to. If so my search bar and history still works as far is I can tell. I'm a firefox guy so i don't use IE much, but i just checked and it looks like its working on my box.

I think we've gotten the Vault client to work on one of our Vista machines. However, we haven't fully tested it, so if you run into a problem, we won't be able to help.
The Vault Server doesn't run on Vista.
We are currently testing Vista and plan to have support with Vault 3.5.2, due out in a couple of months.
