At the moment, I'm just looking for a single-user/single-machine solution, and I don't have a server. I'm using Visual Studio 2005 (VB.NET) and SQL Server Express 2005.
I would like a simple, lightweight solution that allows me to (1) save each build, (2) maintain and store a build/version history, and (3) roll back to (or simply view) a previous build.
I've never used version control software before, so there are probably other features I would use but don't know about. At the moment, however, I don't need collaboration/team features.
Would Vault be overkill for my needs? Can I run it without a dedicated server? Any better solutions?
Thanks,
-Dan
Is VAULT right for me?

Vault will run just fine on XP. See our System Requirements for more information. Vault is free for a single user. The link on that will explain the limitations on support, but there is no limitation in functionality.
