SOS service hanging, must be restarted

Post by bdoellefeld » Fri Dec 08, 2006 10:51 am

We have a total of 4 users currently, all outside the firewall. SOS version is 4.1.2. Things were working well for about 5 months when only 1 user was connecting regularly, now that 3 more have been added this is happening almost daily.

I'm having trouble with the sos service hanging (showing as started but no one is able to connect). Restarting the service gets thing flowing again but only for a short time. Here is what is being logged when each user logs off, not sure if this is normal.

Code: Select all

12/8/2006 9:33:47 AM - 1: GetFileList project: $/Insight Gold/Documents/Database
12/8/2006 9:33:47 AM - 1: Time to execute: 0 minutes, 0 seconds, 93 milliseconds.
12/8/2006 9:34:06 AM - 1: Exception: Index was outside the bounds of the array.
12/8/2006 9:34:06 AM - 1: Error processing client request: at ClassicService.ServerException..ctor(Int32 id, String data)
   at ClassicService.ProtocolMessage.ParseStream(Socket socket, Crypto crypto)
   at ClassicService.Client.GetMessage()
12/8/2006 9:34:06 AM - 1: User rkumar disconnected from IISCTXL1.

Can you tell me what version of VSS you are using?
How about the Automatin Component Version?

What's the server OS?
Is the VSS server and the SOS server installed on the same machine or separate?

Do you have more than one NIC card installed on the server?

There had been previously reported problems with that version of the automation component. You will want to check out this article in order to fix that: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=10.

Let me know how things work for you after that.
