Upgrading 2.0.x to 3.5.x

Post by frizzo » Sun Nov 12, 2006 1:03 am

We are looking to upgrade our Vault server from 2.0.6 to the latest 3.5.x version. I have a pretty large size database, so I want to make sure that everything is kept intact.

What are the recommended ways to make the upgrade? Do I just run the setup and it will upgrade everything?

Make sure you have a good backup of your database. Then run the 3.5.1 installer over the existing installation. The installer will upgrade your database from 2.0.6.

Follow-up question. If remember correctly, Vault is free for a one user (e.g. one user and an admin). Is this still the case? I have the following situation - I have 4 licenses for vault 2.0.6 - however, I am the only developer left on the project. Thus I can technically use Vault for free without having to upgrade or buy a new license. If I upgrade to 3.5.x - will the installation complain that I need to get an updated license?

Regards

We still have the single user version. Vault should work if you deactivate all but one user (plus admin). You may need to remove the old 2.0.6 license.
