Auto Login and Pending Checkin

Post by btd » Fri Oct 20, 2006 8:58 am

Good morninh Vault:

I have two questions I was hoping you could answer.

I am using Visual Studio.net 2005 and I was wondering if there is a way to auto login to Vault when I open my VS.NET 2005 project., Currently, each day I open VS.NET 2005, I get the Vaukt login screen.

Secondly, after logging on to Vault, I get a recurring message in the "Pending Check-In" window. I think its the number of files in my project and it counts down to 0 but it's taking up a lot of CPU and I was wondering what's going on and what can I do to fix?

Thanks

BTD

Here are two articles on auto login that may help:

Is the project extremely large that you are opening?
You may wish to check the bindings. I've only had that happen to me when something wasn't quite right with my bindings.

Auto Login and Pending Checkin

Neither of these links helped out with the first issue. I am still being prompted to logon when ever I launch VS.NET and open my VS.NET 2005 project. Also of note: My Solution project does not have acsproj. Only my supporitng class libraries.

On the second question, I am sending you a screen shot of what's happening whenever I launch my project and logon to Vault. I get this every time.

Also of note:

Where exactly do I find out the [repository ID] and profile? As the one in question is not a top repository! And I cant find in the IDE of Vault client or Vault Admin where this is shown.

Is the profile the name of the Repository child or do I have to fully qualify it?

SCC_Aux_Path = http://localhost/VaultService|profile:1

The fields on this line are:
[URL of server to connect to]|[profile to connect with]:[repository ID]

If you look in the MSSCCPRJ.SCC file where Visual Studio stores it's projects (by default it's in My Documents) it will provide you with the SCC_Aux_Path you need for that project.

Did you set up a profile in Vault and set it to a default repository?

Beth:

That helps. Now can you tell me why I am getting this each and everytime I open my VS.NET solution.

Thanks

I'm still thinking a large project (mentioned in first post). Are there a lot of check-outs in that project? Do you know if it happens when the project is outside of source control?

This appears to be a Visual Studio thing.
