Best pratices for remote coding

Hi,

I have about a 15k to 20k link to my source code server and recently found myself compiling old source code combined with new source code.

What is best solution?

I am thinking about trying 'get everything' on open/close of project.

Is this a rival setting to Background checks?

I wouldn't consider it to be a rival setting. You might want to consider though just performing a get latest on the project you are working on instead of the entire respository since it would be faster.
