restricting access to a project

Post by mstoler » Thu Aug 24, 2006 7:06 pm

Hello,

Is there a way to restrict access to a project (folder) to certain users.

I would like to only give one user access to a legacy project to make sure it is not modified.

I am running SourceOffSite 4.1 with Visual Sourcesafe 6.0. I have 2 users running SourceoffSite.

Thank You,

Michael

Project rights are determined in VSS and honored by SOS. Enable project rights for a database with the SourceSafe Admin Client, under Tools->Options->Project Rights. Then set rights by project or user under the Tools menu.

If you are using VSS 6.0c and earlier on the SOS Server machine, the SOS user will see projects and files, but will have read-only access. If you are using VSS 6.0d or later on the SOS Server machine, users will see project, but not the files in projects they don't have access to.
