Feature Request: Notification that a file has been deleted

Post by dvystrcil » Fri Aug 11, 2006 2:31 pm

This one could be considered a bug so please weigh its value carefully. :)

If you perform a folder level GET and you have selected the option:

Repository deletions: Remove working copy if unmodified

or

Repository deletions: Remove working copy

The client will remove the file, but will not inform the user in the message panel which files were deleted or that it even occurred.

The current behavior leads the user to believe that only a GET occurred when if fact it was also something more.

On a side note we may be seeing a bug with the removal behavior on the whole, but I am still looking into this as it could be a user configuration issue.

I wouldn't necessarily categorize this a bug, as GET is meant to syncrhonize your working folder with the server. The client is executing the designed behavior.

However, I would call this an important feature, and the info would be useful. I'll log a Feature Request for a later release of Vault.

Thanks for the feedback.
