Exclusive Checkout of XSD only?

Post by CSkardon » Fri Aug 11, 2006 4:53 am

Hi there,

I have a quick question regarding xsd files - can these *only* be checked out exclusively? i.e. we can't have more than one person editing an xsd file at the same time?

If this is the case - why is it the case? - and importantly - can we change this???

Thanks!

Chris

It wasn't clear if you want xsd files checked out exclusively or edited by multiple users.

If you want xsd files to be checked out by multiple users, add the extension to the list of mergeable files in the Vault Admin Tool->Repository Options->File types.

If you want xsd files to be checked out exclusively, make sure the extension is *not* on the list of mergeable files.

If Vault thinks a file is binary (not mergeable), then the file will always checked out exclusively.
