Bindings lost on "Get Latest" from Vault client

Post by Chris P » Fri Aug 04, 2006 2:02 am

When we are performing a "Get Latest" directly from the Vault client on a VS 2005 solution and then opening it (double clicking on the .sln file), the solution loads with no source control bindings set. Upon opening of the solution VS 2005 indicate that bindings SHOULD exist but it can't resolve them.

If you open the source from within VS 2005 the binding are set correctly.

Both scenarios are being performed on a clean working directory.

SGV is set as a default SCC provider.

Yes, this is expected behavior. If you are using IDE integration, then projects should be added to source control and opened from source control with Visual Studio, not the Vault GUI Client.

Once a user has opened a project via the Open From Source Control command, then they can open the project normally from disk, as the proper bindings will have been set.
