Has anyone managed to configure Microsoft Source Server to work with Vault?

Are you referring SourceSafe or Microsoft's Team Server? Vault doesn't work with either of those or need either of those. Vault is a complete solution for source code control with remote access.

If you want remote access to a VSS database, then you might want to take a look at our SourceOffSite product.

No, I'm referring to the Source Server that is included with the "Debugging Tools For Windows" (see article in MSDN August 2006) which sets up a "private" symbol store for use when debugging different releases of a package.

We haven't heard from users who have tried this -- if anyone has, please post your experience with this.

If anyone needs help generating scripts for Microsoft Source Server using the SourceGear Vault product, please feel free to email me privately at pat.styles@microsoft.com. I am the developer of the Source Server and might be able to help out. I don't have a copy of Vault, so I cannot validate any of the work. If someone at SourceGear wishes to work on this, I would probably be inclined to ship the script as part of the "Debugging Tools for Windows" package.

Thanks for posting, Pat. We have a pretty full plate right now, with upcoming releases, but if you or anyone would like to test the scripts they can down load the Vault demo, which is the full version of the product:http://www.sourcegear.com/vault/downloads.html

If you add only one user, you don't need a license for Vault.

The reason I had originally posted the question was because my Perl is non-existent and I was under the impression that the scripts had to be written in Perl. I could give it a go but it may well be a slow process.

Your best bet is to modify p4.pm to create a new one for Vault. Email me privately if you need any advise.
