I am evaluating the software and found a few old (over a year) topics about DB replication not being possible due to the DB schema not being designed for that purpose.
We have two offices, with a 60/40 share of development work. Because of the net connection speeds available to one office, it would be really tough on development to force users to wait for the high latency either using a remotely hosted repository from within that office, or worse still hosting the repository there.
To enable quick client speed (improving the perception of performance for our developers), with the usual slow replication speeds in the background, is it yet possible:
- With the latest version and SQL Server 2000
- With any version and SQL Server 2005
- By using the new DFS in Windows Server 2003 R2
Any help in acheving this would enable us to buy the product
Many thanks,
Alex Norcliffe
DB Replication or some other solution: possible yet?

Vault still does not support database replication.
Vault is designed to be used as a centralized source code control solution. By using client-side cache files, and by transferring only "deltas" (the differences) instead of entire file each time a file is modified, Vault is optimized for latent connections. Users should see acceptable performance even at dial-up bandwidth of 56Kbps.
Are your remote users having significant performance issues?
