I have the following question. I want to tell a person that I changed a certain file within Vault. So I usually send out an email saying that I changed file $/Projects/SERM_2.5/Database/Enterprise/DevStaticData/Dev_tSite.sql

This person receives this email and now has to hunt through the directories trying to locate this file.

Is there a way send this information as some type of link (almost like a web link) that when a person clicks on a link, it will open Vault and navigate to the directory in question.

Thanks.

Yes, Vault comes with email notification. This is set in the Admin tool under Server Options. In the email the user will receive will include the path to the file and have a link to an overview page with all the transaction details.

I don't believe this will open Vault itself though and go to the actual file.

Thanks
Beth

Beth is correct -- the link is to the Web client, not the GUI client.

The user can configure their email address and the project to "watch" in the Email tab of their Vault GUI Client.
