Choosing different editors for different file types

Post by DaveInColorado » Mon Jul 17, 2006 4:23 pm

In MS VSS you can edit your ss.ini file so that .html files are opened by FrontPage and .c files are opened by Visual Studio.

SOS seems to have a one size fits all thing going on...

Using the default sytem file type doesn't work, because "editing" an HTML file opens Firefox, which I don't use to edit web pages.

I'd be happy if it opened Firefox to view the pages, but FrontPage or DreamWeaver when I choose to edit them.

What am I missing? Did I break something?

You didn't break anything. SOS uses either the app you specifically configure to view and edit files, or uses your Windows system default for opening .html files. There's no way to specificy one default app for editing and another for viewing.
