Microsoft Access, Active X and Sourcegear

Post by rapidfire » Tue Jul 11, 2006 11:12 pm

I have created a .Net User Control. When I embed that control (which is in a DLL and appears to Microsoft Access as an ActiveX control) in a Microsoft Access form, everything works fine (i.e. the User Control renders and I can interact with it). But, if the Access mdb has source control enabled (specifically Sourcegear), I get an error when I try to place the control in the form. At first I thought the problem was Source Control in general in the mdb, but I experimented and if I use Visual Sourcesafe, the control works fine - it's just when i use Sourcegear that I get the error.

Somehow Sourcegear is interfering with the ActiveX control working. I can reproduce the problem and prove that it works fine in a regular mdb but does not work with a Sourcegear enabled mdb.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

We haven't tested Vault with MS Access and we do not support source control integration with Access. So it's possible that there is an issue when using Access with Vault, but we can't be of much help since its not supported.
