VB6 ctl files

Although I can use the 'diff' function on ctl files (which is good by the way), they cannot be 'merged'. ctl files are text based so shouldn't they be easily mergable?

Through the Admin tool you can add the .ctl extension to the list of file types that are mergeable under the Respository Options tab.
