We are using vault to manage ASP.Net web projects and have had no issues except for one. When an ASP.NET 2.0 project is in source control and one user deletes a file on their machine, the file is deleted in Vault (aspx and vb). However, if other users have that file on their machines, Vault treats it as a newly added file and if the other user is not careful, they often accidentally checkin the file again and add it back into Vault.
Is there a fix for Vault that alleviates this issue or good way to handle this issue?

I've seen this issue as well. It's frustrating when you get rid of files only to see them pop back up. What I have done, for now, is when a file I know isn't being used reappears I right click and select "Exclude from Project" option. This renames the file with a .exclude extension so we at least know it's no longer needed. Not perfect, but it works.
Make sure you're on the latest version: Vault 3.1.9. See this post on how we addressed this issue:
