Problem with restoring a database

Post by KPMoore » Wed Jul 05, 2006 11:50 am

So yesterday our main server crashed with all our databases on it. Fortunately we have a backup and I have rebuilt the server. I have resintalled the version of sourcegear that we use and I thought I could use the Admin tool to restore the database. But it seems that I cannot connect using the Admin tool. I keep getting a username or pasword is incorrec message.

I have followed the steps in the documentation and I have verified that the serviceinstall.html file loads as well as the asmx file I have checked and we aren't using a proxy and I need help.

Ok, after some work, I now get the following message connecting to the admin tool after I have restored the database: (FailDBConn)

Sounds like you need to re-establish the Server's database configuration with SQL logins / permissions, etc.

While this can be done by hand, the easiest method is to un-install the Vault Server (KEEPing the database when prompted), and then re-install the Vault Server and using the EXISTING database when prompted.
