Updating in progress

Post by btd » Mon Jun 26, 2006 1:43 pm

I got a weird one here.

I am using VS.NET 2005 and once I wired my application up with Vault versio n 3.1.6 (3658), I'm getting this message showing in the "Pending Checkins" tab of VS.NET.

Shows Updating, 2558 file(s) to process..

The counter is moving toward zero and then eventually goes away.

Any idea why or what this means as my project does not have 2558 files.

Thanks

Are there 2558 files checked out in the repository?

Are there steps to reproduce this behavior?

YEs and no. The project in question is a sister project of the parent project. The parent project does have 2556 files in it.
But why does Vault have to update all the files when there are only 50 files in this project?

I did a little investigation. It seems that VS 2005 is asking for the status of every file in the solution when the pending change set is displayed, something VS.NET 2003 did not do.
