Hi - once per day - i would like to have the vault contents automatically backed up - possibly to CDROM (or emailed to a user each day)..
is this possible with the vault? or with a 3rd party tool?
we need daily backups to either DVD-R/CD-R or emailed off the vault computer.
thanks!
Jon

You can do a simple backup using the Vault Admin Tool, but this is a manual operation.
For scheduled backups, use built-in SQL Server tools or a third party SQL Server backup application.
Using Enterprise Manager in SQL Server 2000, for example, you can select the sgvault database, rightclick, select All Tasks->Backup database. You can choose a backup location, plus create a schedule. You can also do scheduled backups with SQL queries.
For third party tools, do an Internet search on "SQL Server Backup."
You should be able to backup to CD; not sure if which, if any third party apps can email backups.
If any of our users are familiar with third party backup tools, post here.
