Add Files/Folder > Exclude Files/Folders Excludes .Config

Post by link » Fri Mar 24, 2006 5:45 am

By default, Vault excludes *.config files from the list of selected configs, this has the potential to drop app.config files.

Also, how do we save the changes we make to the exclude list? At the moment, if you make changes and click OK, they do not get saved. This means you have to remember to make the changes before you commit a new project to vault.

Any changes to the Exclude list made in the GUI Client are only for that particular "Add" and do not get saved.

You can edit the Exclusion list in the Vault Admin Tool ->Repository Options and then the file types will be excluded by default every time you Add.

Is this an option on the server?

It seems rather crazy to not be able to save your ignore list for one client (and have to speak to someone with server access to set the defaults). Is this something that will be fixed in later versions, or deliberately this way?

It's set in the Admin Tool, so yes, it is a server option.

Many customers like to be able to set global options that all users must follow. And then again, some don't.

I can log a feature request for an option to save the exclude list by user.
