Changing from Shared Files to Shared Projects

I currently have a VSS 6.0d source control system. In it I have about 20 or so projects, with lots of file sharing going on. What I'd like to do is change the file sharing to proper project sharing. Is there a way to automate this process or will I have to remove the file share links and then put the project shares back in?

There's no automated operation within Vault to branch files and then share their parent folder. Branching the files, then sharing the folders would be the way to go.
