Automation presales question.

Hello, we currently use SourceSafe and are thinking of migrating to Vault. One thing that is keeping us on SourceSafe is that we have some custom code written to use SS's automation API. From the looks of things, Vault's client api is (understandably) different, so we would need to re-write essentially from scratch. Am I correct, or is there an API that mimics SS's?
