Locking the VSS Database

Locking the VSS Database

My question concerns whether or not to lock the VSS database while importing. Does it matter if the VSS database is locked as long as no one is going to be using/modifying the database during the import?

It's probably safest to lock the database, but the import will still proceed if it's not locked.
