Moving a Repository

Post by btd » Tue Feb 07, 2006 8:03 am

If I move a sub directory from one repository to another repository, does the history stay in tack?

Thanks

In Vault 3.1.x, there is no way to move folders between repositories.

In the next release of Vault, we will be including a Folder Export/Import Utility which would then be used in these types of situations.

Any workarounds?

Ouch.

Coincidentally I have to combine two company's vaults. I currently have client 3.0.5.2833 and servers 3.1.2.3511 & 3.0.6.2856

Is there really no way to do this, even with *cough* totally unsupported hints that our ex-MSFT SQL Team DBA's could use? :)

Sorry, no.

The tree / file data is stored in a delta format causing dependencies / instructions to be stored in a particular manner in the database. There is no manual way to merge these together. That job will be the for the Folder Export/Import utility.

We have just bought a 10 license pack and currently planning the structure of our source storage. Will the next release with the Folder Export/Import utility be available to us for free?

Thanks.

When you purchased Vault, did you purchase Vault with Gold Support?

Thanks,

Since you purchased Vault with Gold Support, your upgrade will be free. Gold Support provides you with all product upgrades for one year from the date of purchase.
