Admin Tool Folder Security Tab

Would it be possible in a future release or version to allow multiple users to be selected when changing folder security settings? If we want to set certain folders to be Read-Only for all users besides the admin user, we have to go through 20 different users one at a time, deselect the options, and hit Apply. And that's just for one folder. If we could select all users at once, it would be significantly better.

Unless there's maybe an easier way to accomplish what we need. Back when we used VSS, any code which we'd decided was finalized would be checked out under an admin account to prevent anyone from making any changes to those files. We then tried doing this same thing after switching to Vault, only that didn't work so well. The problem being that Vault saves local cache files for all checkouts. So when our source control admin checked out tens of thousands of files with the admin user, the amount of drive space that was filled up by the cache files had a negative impact on his bootability.

So then we started pinning those folders instead. While that works great to avoid accidental changes, anyone at all can unpin the folder.

At that point, changing folder security settings seemed like an ideal solution, except that it would be a full-time job in itself setting security for each user individually.

So, if there's a better way to do what we need to do that I'm not thinking of, that would be fantastic.

It may not be exactly what you want, but you can do this through the Groups tab... You can grant rights to groups without going through every user... This works well for more complex set ups since users can belong to more than one group.
