Exception / fatal error get latest recursively.

I am getting this error when getting the latest on a Web Project Recursively through Visual Studio 2005.

"Your Source control plug-in caused an exception or reported fatal error."

Server Environment:
- Single Proc but Hyper-threaded
- Windows 2003 Server
- VS SourceSafe 2005
- SOS - 4.1.2
- Temp Dir clean
- Registry for InProcServ ThreadingModel set to "Both"
- Log.txt reports nothing when this error occurs.
- Ran Analyze on SS Database, no problems found.

Client Environment:
- Windows XP Pro SP2 with updated current hotfixes.
- VS.2005
- SOS 4.1.2
- I've removed folder that contains the Database1.sos many times and I still get the error.

Steps to reproduce:
- Create new Web Project
- Add project to SourceSafe through VS
- Add new Folder called "NewFolder1"
- Add new aspx file called 'Default.aspx" in "NewFolder1"
- Add another new aspx file called 'Default2.aspx" in "NewFolder1"
- Check in recursively at the project level
- Get latest Recursively through Visual Studio 2005 from either the Web Project root or the "NewFolder1" and it errors.

If I restart VS.2005, and remove one of the aspx files in the "NewFolder1" directory so that there is only one file in the folder, the recursive Get works fine.

I see nothing in the event viewer. Is there another log on the client side that would give an indication of what the error is?

I have checked into the problem that you are reporting and I have been unable to reproduce it. Could you please send me your log.txt file located on the same machine as the SOS Server? You can send this to tonya@sourcegear.com and please reference this posting in the e-mail.

Seems to happen when I converted a web application in 2003 to a open from website in 2005. Since there isn't a csproj file anymore, when I do a get latest from a directory, Source Off Site Crashes and then I lose all my source control bindings. Not Very Nice.

In VS 2005, web projects are opened diffrently then other projects. Can you tell me if the problem still exists if you open a web project that needs converted by performing the following:

File - Open - Web Site - Source Control - Select Source Control Project - select the web project from the SOS tree

Does the Get Latest problem still exist?

We have been able to reproduce this error message and I have logged this in our bug database as a "high" priority. The problem only exists when using web projects and placing them in a different directory other than the default "website" directory that VS 2005 creates.

Hopefully we will have a resolution soon.

Thanks for sending me the fix tonya. Works like a charm. Get latest now works fine with web projects.
