Automated Build Labels

Post by espenalb » Tue Jan 17, 2006 3:57 am

We want the developers to apply a label "ReadyForTest" to their code, and then trigger a build+deployment to our test server. This works fine.

The "problem" occurs when the developer fixes the bugs found during testing - he then wants to promote the "ReadyForTest" label and apply it to what are now the latest vault versions.

While this is doable in the Promotion dialog box, it is quite cumbersome because the developer needs to promote each version, and the possibility of error grows.

I would like a "ApplyLabelPromoteToLatestVerisionIfAllreadyExists" method.

Is this possible? Maybe from the command line client?

(We are using the version 3.1.6.3658 of vault client and server)

Sincerely

Maybe I dont get you right but why dont you just reapply the same label again (after deleting it)?

That would work, thanks for the suggestion - still think it would be nice with that feature though...

I'll log a feature request to add a "ApplyLabelPromoteToLatestVerisionIfAllreadyExists" method.
