I am battling with renegade issues and Vault while using VS 2005. What are the recommended VS 2005 source control plugin settings for a work PC / remote PC environment. Meaning 90% of all work is done on work PC and roughly 10% is done on remote one. I use the same login to access Vault on both machines which I think might be causing all of the headaches? Apparently when you configure Vault option using the Vault client it applies to the user logged in and not to the machine on which the options were configured. Correct? I always checkin on the work PC before attempting to check out on the remote PC but still run into scenarios where I end up with out of sync files (renegade). Currently I am using the defaults and wanted to know if there was a recommended configuration that might resolve the renegade issues.
Using latest release of Vault client and server....

Are you editing the files on a machine that you did not check them out with? You will receive a renegade file status if you edit files that weren't checked out on the same machine. The only way around this is to make sure you files are checked in before using a different machine.
