Auto check in of SQL 2005 .MDF files fails

Post by cac123 » Tue Jan 03, 2006 1:18 pm

There appears to be a "bug" with regards to checking in .MDF files. If an MDF file is included in a solution and the solution is checked in the latest local copy of the .MDF file doesn't get included in the check in process. If you manually check the .MDF file in it seems to work as expected. I have had this happen several times so I now always manually check the MDF file in after checking a solution in.

Is there any work around for this?

We'll see if we can reproduce this. What kind of solution is it?

I wasn't able to reproduce this; I was using a SQL 2000 MDF file, though

Could you provide specific steps?

Also, how are you checking in the MDF file manually? Through the Vault GUI Client?

How big is the MDF file? Could it have something to do with the size?

Are there any error messages in VS 2005 or in the Vault server log file when the checkin fails?
