Compression algorithm used by Vault

A rather off-topic question, if you'll pardon the interruption.

Some time back (a year?) there was a post on this forum that mentioned the compression/diff algorithm that vault uses between the client and the server, and I believe it included a link to a paper (RFC?) that described the algorithm.

Does anyone have that link? Despite several attempts, I haven't been able to conjur up the correct algorithm name.

Partly because of this algorithm, but mostly because of the fine work at SourceGear, Vault Rocks!
