PlugInWebService cache is huge. Can something be done?

Post by jmlange » Wed Dec 21, 2005 8:32 am

We are running Vault 3.1.3. On our server, there is a folder path named:

C:\Documents and Settings\[server name]\ASPNET\Application Data\Sourcegear\Vault_1\PlugInWebService\...

The files under the PlugInWebService part of the folder tree are taking up almost 30% of our C drive.

There is another folder path that I understood to be the Vault shadow folder cache:

C:\Documents and Settings\[server name]\ASPNET\Application Data\Sourcegear\Vault Shadow Folder Cache

The files under there are almost exactly the size of our shadow folders and are not the problem here.

What purpose do the files under PlugInWebService serve and can they be deleted?

Thanks,
Jan Lange

Are any of the files in that folder recent?

We've made some changes to Shadow folders, so the PlugInWebService directory is probably the Shadow Folder cache from a previous version of Vault.

You should be able to delete it.

Nothing since 11/1/2005

We upgraded to 3.1.3 (from 3.1.1) on 11/1/2005. Nothing in the PlugInWebService folder hierarchy is dated after that upgrade.

I'll go ahead and delete if you say it should be ok.

It looks like we made changes to the cache name/location for 3.1.3, so you should be able to delete the old cache.
