Hi,
I'm having problems with the "Keep checked out" option of Vault. If you have a file who's date has changed but not the content of the file, Vault wil undo the checkout on that file BEFORE doing the check-in transaction, regardless of the "Keep checked out" option.
Vault messages :
[12/15/2005 12:25:35 PM] Undoing check out of file $/XX/YYYY
[12/15/2005 12:25:36 PM] Preparing data to begin transaction
[12/15/2005 12:25:36 PM] Beginning transaction
[12/15/2005 12:25:36 PM] Check in $/XX/ZZZZ
[12/15/2005 12:25:37 PM] Ending the transaction
[12/15/2005 12:25:38 PM] Transaction completed successfully
This behavior is common with VS .Net web project. If both the layout and the code page are opened, VS will save both, even if you have only edited the code part.
I'm using the Vault client version 3.1.5.3546 (not the IDE client) with the same server version.
Hoping you can fix this little problem.

Thanks for the report. We'll try to reproduce this here. Are you using VS.NET 2003 or VS 2005?

But you don't need to do this in VS. Just open a file in Notepad and save it without changing anything to it. You'll get the same bug.

I have seen this as well. I am just using the Vault Client, and when ever i do a multi-select on files and check them in, but keep them checked out. it will only do some files.
Checking in a whole project directory does the same thing...
