Vault in NLB?

We are using Microsoft Network Load Balancing and was wondering if we could install Vault on each web server in the farm. The database would be the same.

Is this possible?

We haven't tested this. Vault uses IIS application state information and info on disk that is unique to a particular server machine. If the client communicates with a machine other than the one that got the original request, subsequent requests might fail.

We may be able to make Vault compatible with web farms in the future, but don't recommend using a Vault on a web farm at this time.

I'm not saying I've done it or that I'd suggest it, but it should work in theory if you use the correct Server Affinity setting in NLB.
