Sourcegear Vault is no more the default VersionControl in VS

Post by Mansur » Tue Dec 13, 2005 1:42 am

Hi,

after installing the VS2005 Beta (including VSS2005) the Vault-Sourcecontrol is no more the default VersionControl (even in VS2003)

How to get the Vault back as source control?

Regards,

Mansur:

Start the Vault GUI Client. From the Menu, Tools -> Options -> General, make sure "Make Vault your default SCC Provider" is checked.

VS 2005 has a slightly different method for determining the default source control provider, and the old method of setting it through Vault will sometimes work, and sometime not.

The new definitive way is to go through Visual Studio, Tools->Options->Source Control, and select Vault from the dropdown list of source code providers.

Let us know if this doesn't work - VS 2005 has been finicky in this area, and we want to make sure there are no lingering issues.
