Win64 and .NET 2

Post by ysfred4 » Sat Nov 12, 2005 11:38 pm

I had Vault installed on a Win64 system with a beta version of .NET 2. Right onw, I have the release version and am having problems getting Vault setup. I keep getting issues with either Service Unavailable, or a 503 error. I have followed all of the support pages to get it to run, but it is not working. I have IIS6 and .NET 2 (x64) installed and registered.

Has anyone else seen issues like this?

Did Vault ever work on that machine? We haven't fully tested Vault on a Windows 64-bit system. In some cases, it won't work properly because of differences in the registry in Win64.

If it was working before, you might be able to get it to work again.

What troubleshooting have you tried so far? Did you uninstall Vault before you upgraded the .NET Framework, then reinstall?

Debugging

I had it running under .NET 2 beta2 for a while, but had forgotten about it when I had went to the RC version. Now that the final version is out I wanted to get it all setup again. I had a bit of trouble with it at first but finally got it to work. If I had known that x64 was not really tested, I would have documented everything to help others out.

I am getting 503, 404, and Service Unavailable errors when I try to get in with the Admin Tool. The database (Sql 2005) is setup correctly and had no problems during the setup.

It would be related to issue in your link and I will look it over tonight. Is there any log that you would like to see? I did an uninstall and removed the database and recreated everything. I do have my older database in the new format because of the original upgrade.

On the Vault Server machine, try connecting to:

http://localhost/VaultService/VaultService.asmx

Do you get a different error message?
