Problems upgrading from 2.0.6 to 3.1.2

Post by ngallimore » Mon Oct 31, 2005 9:55 pm

We are currently running Vault 2.0.6, and are upgrading to 3.1.2. When running the installer, the following message is encountered when it attempts to upgrade the database:

Code: Select all

OK
Upgrading your Vault configuration.
Checking for IIS Version...Connecting to the SQL Server...OK
Verifying the SQL Server requirements...OK
Requesting Vault Admin user password...OK
Upgrading the existing Vault database...
This may take a long time. Do NOT stop this process!
 Checking the installed database version...OK
Database 'SGVAULT' does not exist. Check sysdatabases.
ALTER DATABASE statement failed.
Vault Upgrade Setup is exiting due to a failure or cancellation. Error Code = -1001
Please press OK to continue installing the Client and Admin Tools (if selected).
The database 'sgvault' does exist (we can query its size in the database manager). The server is running Windows 2003. Following the advice of another post, we stopped the IIS application pool for Vault to prevent people accessing it whilst the upgrade was proceeding, but reactivating it doesn't seem to fix the above problem.

Any suggestions on how to proceed would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Can you try the Vault 3.1.3 server upgrade? It was released yesterday.

Thanks - that worked perfectly.

And may I take this opportunity to commend SourceGear on their upgrades and support - even jumping a few versions in one hit worked great (apart from that little snag) - well done!
